Senior Accountant

The role of the Senior Accountant is to support the Head of Accounting to ensure accounting and tax compliance. Senior Accountant has ownership over and responsibility for assigned groups of accounts, performs more complicated accounting calculations and prepares and books month-end entries. Also, this person assists other departments with accounting/invoicing related issues and mentors less experienced colleagues.

    Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Head of Accounting to be able to complete assigned accounting tasks within given deadlines.
  • Actively participating in internal controls execution and improvement of accounting processes, policies and reconciliations.
  • Preparing monthly reconciliations for assigned groups of accounts and reviewing reconciliations of junior colleagues.
  • Calculating, preparing and booking month-end closing entries.
  • Liaison with external auditors, regulatory agencies, advisors, accounting teams of other entities and various internal stakeholders.
  • Actively participating in the audit and consolidation process.
  • Supporting accounting-wise new cross-departmental projects on a needed basis.
  • Mentoring and sharing knowledge with less experienced colleagues.
  • We would like to see your application if you:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in economics, preferably in finance.
  • Have proven knowledge of CZ GAAP and at least theoretical knowledge of IFRS.
  • Have at least 3-4 years of relevant work experience in finance (accounting, audit, reporting).
  • Have English knowledge on the B2 level.
  • Have experience with coaching and leading a small team, it would be an advantage.
  • Have an analytical and detail-oriented mind with a drive to deliver.
  • Are an independent, stress-resistant and reliable person with the ability to prioritise in a fast-changing environment.
